I purchased 4 boxes of the jacquard tie dye kits to make 60 kids shirts for a kindergarten party. The party is tues - it is Sunday night. I'd like to do as much prep work as possible before the party.

Can I wash and rubberband the shirts tonight? And then soak them in the soda ash the morning of the party?

My concern is that the shirts will dry with the rubber bands on them. Does it matter I'd they get soaked in soda ash dry?

Also can I soak in soda ash overnight? Or better to do 20 min before we tie dye?

Please help!

Hi L,

You can certainly prewash and tie the shirts in advance of the party. There will be no problem if the shirts dry with the rubber bands on them. Soaking them in the soda ash the night before and letting them drip dimi-dry the morning of the party they will be perfect for applying dye.
