hi,
i have 2 questions -
1) i want to dye a pair of dark blue jeans black, they are 75% cotton, 24% polyester + 1% spandex... would that work? if so, how much dye should i use?

2) if i dye in the sink will it stain?

thanks,

Hi Darren,

Polyester blends generally do not dye well with our Procion MX dyes (the standard dye for cotton) You could give it a try, but I think the results will be less than fantastic. If you want to give it a try use about 4 tablespoons of color 150 Jet Black. Here is the link to our dyeing instructions http://www.jacquardproducts.com/products/dyes/procionmx/

If you do the project in your sink it will stain--if you have a porcelain sink you can bleach it out.

Good luck!

Noelle
