Hey everybody,

I recently purchased a karate uniform which I need to dye red. Now I'm completely inexperienced when it comes to dye, and I read on iDye's product page that iDye and iDye Poly can be mixed for mixed fabrics, but it suggests using the stove top method. My top-load washing machine can provide warm water - could I just use that instead? I don't have a cooking pot I'd like to sacrifice for this, since I don't dye very often.

Hello there,

If you are trying to achieve a dark color you really are going to be better off using the stove top method. The iDye Poly works best at between 180 and 200 degrees Fahrenheit.
I've found all of my dye pots at local second hand stores. Old canning pots work very well.
