I'm having trouble applying and buffing the wax on some inkjet prints that have been mounted onto masonite, and sealed with krylon uv matte. I've been brushing on the wax, and buffing immediately per the directions for sealing photos. When I go to buff it just gets gummy and cloudy. I'm brushing on the wax, not super thick, but enough of it to coat it well. Then I melt it with a heat gun to even it out even more. Then I buff, which is getting a frosty look, and still super soft and sticky. Do I need a thinner coat?

A thinner coat will help, but better yet allow the piece to dry longer before buffing.
