Could anyone please recommend what products to use & the best method for dyeing Faux Suede boots gold? They are currently a cream colour. I've attached a picture.
Many Thanks  IMG_8684.png

Do you want them to actually be metallic gold colored, or do you want them to like a goldenrod color?  Dye and metallics don't work together.  You have to paint something if you want gold.

Hi,

Thanks for getting back to me.

I would prefer a matt metallic colour. I'm not adverse to the idea of painting the Boots providing it delivers a good finish that is transfer & rain resistant and that the faux sued doesn't become "stif". Failing that I would settle for a gold colour....

Many Thanks,
Lesca

I'd use a combined technique on this project.  Add a gold pearl ex powder to dye na flow.  Dye na flow is a pint, but it will maintain the nap, or fuzzies, on the shoe.  I would add the gold pearl ex to Golden yellow dye na flow at about 10% or 12 grams( a little under a tablespoon.)  Then you want to fix it.  Normally on fabric you heat set, but that is not practical here.  Use airfix at 3%.  It sets the dye na flow and makes it more durable to rubbing and rain.  Add a teaspoon to the 2.25 oz jar of dye na flow.  Mix it all up together and then paint on with a sponge brush.  You should wait 3 days for it to totallu cure before wearing, but then you should be great.
