I have successfully dyed a few cashmere sweaters using jacquard acid dye, but figuring out the end color was easier with those (cream to navy blue, grey to black, etc.). I have a beautiful red 100% cashmere sweater that I want to dye burgundy (red is a bad color on me, but I'd wear burgundy). It seems like I'd just use burgundy dye, but I am afraid of it turning too purple (I've read reviews that the burgundy dye leans on the pink/purple side). Do I just go ahead and try burgundy dye? If the color isn't exactly what I hoped for, I won't be terribly upset (it was a second hand find for just a few dollars). Thanks for any suggestions!
