For dying a large cotton sheet navy blue would you recommed idye in very hot water or Procion MX cold water dying ? Which is less likely to fade from sunlight ?

While a few direct dyes are more [URL=http://www.pburch.net/dyeing/FAQ/lightfastness.shtml][U]sun-resistant[/U][/URL] than a few of the fiber reactive dyes, the reverse is true in many cases, so you can't choose which class of dye to use based on lightfastness unless you have the individual Colour Index names of each of your dye colors of each type of dye. Procion MX dye is far, far more wash-resistant than any direct dye, and tends to produce brighter colors, so I think it's preferable.
