I prepared my indigo dye vat as directed, (I think...) and there was no "flower", just some random foam and then I waited for an hour and the mixture was dark blue-green, not yellow-green. What happened? Can it be fixed or do I need a new kit to start over?

It sounds like the reduction agent was ineffective. Email us at service@jacquardproducts.com and we'll take care of it for you.

i also prepared my dye kit with similar results. after waiting an hour, there was no flower. just an oily film with a couple of bits of foam. the mixture was acid green beneath the top layer. can i save the mixture? i have all my projects tied up and ready to dye..

Hi Erik,

Thanks fro your question.
The acid green is good! There are times when the flower doesn't develop in quite the same way, but because you have that good green we look for it sounds to me as if your vat is just fine.

hope this helps,
annette
