I want to dye a pair of faded khaki jeans olive. They are cotton/spandex blend. Since olive is only available in natural idye, what color could I use in the synthetic dye? I am looking for a muted olive color but open to variations. Any suggestions?

How much spandex is in there? Usually in jeans it is less than 10%. I wouldn't worry about it at all. Idye natural actually works on spandex a little bit. It prob won't dye quite as dark as the cotton portion, but you will not be able to tell the difference unless it is over 30% spandex.

I would just go with the Idye Natural. Stovetop directions give you the most true colors. The washing machine doesn't usually get hot enough for a complex color like Olive.

You can also dye it in a hot bucket on the floor. I like this method. It gets darker than the washing machine. The drawback is taht you need to stir more when it is not on the stovetop. Use the hottest water from the tap, and a kettle of hot water from the stove helps too.
