Hello,

Can someone clarify for me how to read the Procion MX Mixing chart.

By example, if I want Bubble Gum Pink - what is the ratio of Fuschia to water?

Thanks,

Evan

Yes that is a mistake. One of the problems with that chart is it doesn't tell you what percentage you want to dye something at.  It should say 4% or something by weight of fabric.

Fuchsia is a really strong color.  You don't need much.  Someone asked this last week and we came up with 1/3 of a gram.  It seems like nothing.  It is literally a pinch. This is less than even an 1/8 of a teaspoon.  This Would be for 1lb.  The ratio of dye to fabric is more important than of dye to water.

Does this rule apply to all the formulas in the Procion MX Mixing Chart?

Can I use 4% of the recipes for 8 oz of water?

I am in the same boat as the OP, using 8 oz squeeze bottles and want to mix colors such as Mauve, Khaki, New Aqua, Charcoal and Dark Grey

Thanks

Thanks for the mod for the details.

I too would be interested in Derek's question.

Thanks!
