Hi

I am trying to re-due a blended leather couch that has started to peel.

I purchaseda specialty vinyl and fabric spray paint. When I attempted to paint the cushion it turned out bumpy. Now I am wondering if I should buy a primer and prime the surface first, sand it before & after painting, or continue to add additional layers of paint.

Any and all help will be greatly appreciated as this is the first time that I have done a project like this
Hi,

I am trying to re-due a blended leather couch that has started to peel. I purchased a specilty vinyl spray paint. When I painted the first cushion it turned out bumpy. I am wondering what I should do. Should I try to prime it with some type of primer, sand it, or should I try to put on additional layers of paint?

This is my first time taking on a project like this so any help would be greatly appreciated!

There are spray primers for leather painting, and they really help the paint adhere. They aer sometimes called adhesion promoters. We do not sell a primer like this though.

Make sure the surface is really clean and free from any coatings. Alcohol and acetone really help in removing these coating.
