I have a dark denim tencel button down shirt from Anthropologie last season. I have washed it as per instructions in cold water. Unfortunately the color is not as dark as originally purchased (main reason why I bought the shirt). The new "medium" indigo color is not to my liking. Is there a way that I can re-dye my tencel shirt back to the dark indigo?

Please help. The manufacturer is not searchable on the Internet and the shirt is no longer made.

Hi Jennifer,

With tencel you have a couple of options. You can use either the Procion MX dye or iDye for natural fibers.
The Procion MX is a cold water dye, the iDye needs hot water to work well so that may help with your decision making process. Here are links to both dyes' instruction pages so you have an idea of the process for each. Take a look and if you have any other questions let me know.
And just for grins you might want to consider using actual Indigo - the process is pretty easy but it is a bit more expensive if all you'll be doing is overdyeing one shirt...now if you have some other items you'd like in an Indigo color it's a great way to go!
