In the middle of a project, I used up my water based resist that is a couple of years old. I was surprised to find that the replacement resist is now yellowish. I followed the instructions and stirred the resist. I found the resist very runny and unsatisfactory making not only thick lines, but uneven lines, like the base solvent spreads faster than the resist. A store employee suggested I try thickening with sodium alginate, which worked to get the resist thicker, but it was impossible to get the right consistency to flow thru the 5 mm metal tip. Plus, I had to stop about every minute to clear the tip with what appear to be small globs of alginate. I want my old resist back! What is the difference in this formulation?!
